Make A Check

Terms of Service

Last updated September 15, 2026

By using makeacheck.com — including the free VOID-check page — you agree to these terms. We may update them; when we do we change the date above and, for changes that matter, email account holders. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply.

What Make A Check is

Make A Check, at makeacheck.com ("the service"), is a tool that lays out a check from details you enter and lets you print it on your own printer using blank check stock you supply. We are not a bank, a payment network or a check printer in the traditional sense. We do not move money, and a check you print is an instrument drawn on your account with your bank, exactly as if you had handwritten it.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to print checks on an account you don't own or aren't authorized to use, to create counterfeit or fraudulent instruments, or in violation of any law. This applies to the free VOID-check page too: enter only a bank account you own or are authorized to use. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement. If we close an account for misuse, unused credits are forfeited; if we close it for any other reason, we refund unused purchased credits.

Bank acceptance and your responsibility

The service lays out the check, and the line of numbers along its bottom edge, in the form banks read, and checks routing numbers against the ABA checksum — that only catches typos; we don't verify that a routing or account number is real, open, or yours. Whether a given check is accepted is ultimately decided by the depositing and paying banks and depends on factors we don't control, including your printer, paper and toner. You should print a test on plain paper, compare it to a check from your bank, and deposit a small check before relying on the service. We are not responsible for returned items, bank fees, or losses arising from a rejected check. A VOID check carries information only and can't be cashed; check the numbers yourself before giving one to an employer, payroll provider or biller — a mistyped digit sends money to the wrong account — and whether they accept it is their decision.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and refund unused purchased credits.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. If someone brings a claim against us because of a check you printed or the way you used the service — for example a check drawn on an account you weren't allowed to use — you agree to cover our resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees.

Closing your account

You can remove any checking account at any time from your account page. To close your account entirely, contact us from your account email; we will delete your bank details and personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute we can't settle by email will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
